Airship Ground Crew Position

Airship Ventures is a company based in Moffett Field, California that provides flight tours around the Bay Area and southern California in a Zeppelin NT airship.

We currently have openings for ground crew positions.

Working under the direction of a Ground Crew Chief or Pilot-in-Command, the ground crew is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the Zeppelin. This will include preparing the airship for flight, operating ground support equipment, lifting and moving items quickly (minimum of 40 lbs), interacting with passengers, and maintaining and transporting numerous support vehicles. You must be physically fit, be willing to work in all weather, and have a head for heights. You must have a flexible schedule and be willing to work different shifts.

We will consider a variety of fields of experience but all candidates must be willing and eligible to obtain a Commercial Driver License (CDL) with Hazmat and passenger endorsements. Military aviation experience is strongly preferred. Travel is required this year to support airship operations up and down the U.S. west coast. Travel ranges from short day trips to extended trips that can exceed 30 days. More significant travel and time on the road may be required in 2011. We operate out of airports and so exhaustive security and background checks will be conducted. We also operate in a drug free environment, and random drug and alcohol testing may be required.

A benefits package and uniforms will be provided. Starting base salary is $19.23/hour, depending on experience, with an increase upon successful completion of a 90-day probationary period.
