It's finally here; your chance to fly a Zeppelin!
Led by our experienced pilots and engineering team, this two day adventure will allow you to see behind the scenes at Airship Ventures, learn the basics of airship flight, and get into the cockpit. Offered nowhere else in the world, this is truly an opportunity of a lifetime. You handle the controls, you command the airship, and you do it all flying from the left seat.
Previously designed as a one day course, we've expanded the program to include a more in-depth review of the flight manual, adding a Q & A session, increased hanger access to Eureka and allowing for more involvement with system checks, pre-flight procedures and ground & flight operations – all at the same, originally offered price!
We operate one of three Zeppelins in existence and our Pilot Training course is the only one like it in the world, exclusively offered by Airship Ventures. The program is a huge success and has been very well received. Previous students have indicated they could have gone on for longer, enjoying more ground school time (asking to spend more time on weight & balance if you can believe it!), would have been willing to pay even more for such a rare opportunity and many have showed interested in taking the course again, they enjoyed it so much.
Each session is limited to six qualifying pilots*, giving each pilot at least 30 minutes in the cockpit as well as nearly four hours of total flight time in the Zeppelin. This gives you plenty of time to ask questions and to see the sights of the Bay Area while talking with fellow pilots and our Zeppelin crew.
Prior to flying the Zeppelin, students will participate in a comprehensive and interactive ground school, covering flight & ground operations, limitations and performance, as well as system checks, ground handling and preflight procedures.
*To qualify for class enrollment, individuals must be pilot rated (private pilot or better) and have a current aviation medical certificate.
If you'd like more time in the cockpit, just add additional slots or ask about a custom package. To gift this experience to someone, talk to us about a special gift package.
